Uncle Sim's
Growing up in the rural, quiet midwestern community is something Derek and his three friends take for granted. The hustle of the bigger cities seems far away from this quiet community. As these four friends grow and age, they experience one of the hidden dangers of every small town: drug usage. Told in first person detail, this story unfolds what these young adults experience as they make it through life. Derek always wondered why his father and mother spoke so little of a family member, a cousin who is nicknamed Uncle Sim. Derek begins a flashy and almost exciting lifestyle under the careful eye of Uncle Sim. He is brought into the drug world and taught everything Sim can teach. Through his stuggles he learns who his friends are, who he is, and most importantly, who Uncle Sim is.
